Garibaldi Park, British Columbia
Part of the Bivouac Backcountry Series, Spatial Vision Group designed and published this map for hikers and skiers using a combination of state-of-the-art satellite image processing methods and high-mountain cartographic techniques. This detailed 1:50,000 scale map of the glacier-filled Garibaldi Park of British Columbia, Canada is the first of its kind for the area. Visually stunning, GPS-ready, filled with topographic details and based on the latest information available, this landmark topographic map gives hikers and skiers the most accurate and up-to-date view of the area.
The process for creating the base map involved integrating public domain datasets (DEM, hydrology, road centre-line network, etc.) for the area of interest using the familiar workflow between ArcMap, MAPublisher and Adobe Illustrator. All satellite image processing was done in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
